Frequently Asked Questions
QUESTION: Do you clean drapes while they are on the windows?ANSWER: No. Ours is a premium take-down, cleaning, pressing, and rehanging service. On-site cleaning is less costly, but not as thorough - like cleaning a dress while you're wearing it.
Although there may be occasions when on-site cleaning might make sense, you do get what you pay for. It should not be compared to the complete service we provide.
QUESTION: How much does it cost?ANSWER: Because there are so many variables involved from window to window, it is difficult to estimate the cost without knowing the details of the project. There is a minimum charge which takes into consideration the cleaning, the extent of the take-down and reinstallation, where you live, and the two trips to your house.
In most cases, we can give you a fairly accurate idea of the cost over the phone after asking a few questions about your window coverings. For more complicated treatments, you can email a photo. If that doesn't help, we may come to your home and give you an estimate of the cost with no obligation.
QUESTION: How much advance notice do you need?ANSWER: Usually, a few days’ notice is sufficient to schedule your take-down appointment. If it's an emergency (as in the painter is coming tomorrow!), we’ll try to help you out if at all possible.
QUESTION: How long does it take?ANSWER: We will usually return your drapes within 10 to 14 days. This should be ample time to have any painting, carpet cleaning, window washing, or window replacement done. If you have an upcoming event in your home that requires faster service, we’ll try to accommodate you.
QUESTION: Will you store our drapes after cleaning them, for instance, until a lengthy remodeling project is completed?ANSWER: Yes, we are usually able to hold your window coverings until you are ready for them to be reinstalled.
